General Anaesthesia
Sleep Through Your Dental Treatment with Complete Comfort and Safety
Sleep dentistry uses intravenous sedation to create a controlled state where you're unconscious and feel nothing during treatment. It's ideal for wisdom teeth extractions, impacted teeth, and complex dental procedures. Delivered by Dr Michael Walker, Australia's foremost sedation dentistry expert, you can be assured of the highest standard of care.
By providing these services in our Waterloo practice, we eliminate the need for expensive hospital visits while delivering the same quality care with comprehensive monitoring by our trained anaesthetic nurses.
You'll wake up with your treatment complete—no memory of the procedure, minimal discomfort, and back to your life faster.
Ideal For
The Process
You'll meet with Dr Walker to discuss your medical history, treatment plan, and any concerns. We'll provide pre-operative instructions including fasting requirements (typically 6-8 hours before your appointment).
An IV line is placed and you'll gradually drift into sleep as the sedative is administered. Throughout the procedure, our Senior Registered Nurses continuously monitor your vital signs, ensuring your safety at every moment.
You'll wake in our comfortable recovery room feeling groggy—completely normal. A responsible adult collects you (no driving for 24 hours). Rest at home, and we'll provide detailed aftercare instructions to manage any swelling.
No Hospital Needed. We perform general anaesthesia right here in our practice, eliminating the need for expensive hospital visits. Your procedure is completed safely in a familiar, caring environment.
Significant Cost Savings. Hospital-based procedures cost thousands more. By managing anaesthesia in-house with trained nurses monitoring continuously, we pass those savings directly to you.
Dr Walker's Expertise. With over 20 years of experience, Dr Walker is highly skilled in administering general anaesthesia for major dental work. Your safety is our top priority, every single time.
Complete in One Visit. Multiple procedures that might take months of appointments can often be completed in a single session, getting your dental health back on track faster.
