DENTAL IMPLANTS

di-01[1]Implants are a highly effective solution for missing teeth. They have been tested and studied for over 35 years with 95%-98% success rate.

Dental implants are a permanent restorative option to replace single or multiple missing teeth. Dental implants are an artificial root made of medical grade titanium alloy post which fuses with the bone. Once this has been achieved it acts as an anchor to the crown or bridge. The implant is then fully integrated into the mouth. The appearance of the crown will be natural looking as it is shaped and coloured to match your other teeth.

REPLACING A SINGLE TOOTHdi-02[1]

Traditionally if you were missing a tooth or one needed to be extracted, the healthy teeth either side of the missing tooth would be cut down and the whole thing replaced with a three unit crown bridge. Dental implants are a modern alternative. Instead of cutting down two perfectly good teeth an implant is inserted into the jaw bone to replace your missing tooth root. This becomes quite solidly fixed to your jaw over a 4-6 month period Temporary teeth can be inserted so that you don’t have to have a gap until the final tooth is ready to be placed. As a final step a permanent crown is made. This can be screwed on or cemented on depending on what best suits the situation. The final result is made to look like a natural tooth.

REPLACING MULTIPLE TEETHdi-03[1]

Having two or more implants installed is a good option for patients who are missing teeth and do not want a fixed bridge or partial denture. This is a good solution as an implant supported bridge is a stand alone solution and does not involve treatment to the adjacent teeth. When the far back teeth are missing a bridge anchored to implants is the only fixed alternative. Traditional dentures can’t offer the same level of stability or function.

FULL ARCH REPLACEMENTdi-05[1]
Missing all your teeth can affect the quality of your life. People can have lower self esteem as missing teeth can make you look older, conventional solutions such as dentures can be uncomfortable to wear as they remain unstable in the mouth, therefore compromise chewing of certain foods .In the upper jaw the acrylic covers the majority of the palate which in turn reduces taste sensations.

Implant supported prosthesis/dentures look natural and are fitted securely to the jaw which give individuals confidence and greater quality of life.

REMOVAL TOOTH REPLACEMENT ON IMPLANTSdi-06[1]

A removable denture secured on two or more implants using mechanical anchors which retain the denture firmly. The advantage of this is having a stable denture, being able to remove denture for cleaning as well as not loosing taste sensation from your palate being covered in acrylic.

REMOVAL BRIDGE ON AN IMPLANT BAR

For this procedure at least 2- 4 implants need to be placed to support a removable prosthesis/ denture. The denture is screwed into the bar which provides very secure retention. The denture can be removed by the dentist for easy cleaning.di-07[1]

FIXED IMPLANT SUPPORTED BRIDGE

A fixed implant supported bridge is secured firmly by 4 or more implants. Screw retained bridges allow teeth to function without restrictions.
